Group Multi-Criteria Decision Making to Select Investment Companies

Abstract

With problems spread around the world, evaluating the performance of the investment companies and being able to identify potentially weak investment companies which will get into trouble becomes more interesting for investors, managers and the public. The aim of this study was to propose an integrated approach, the combination of traditional and downside risk performance measures, for evaluating the strategies of selecting the optimal combination of the investment companies’ stock in Iran over the period of2006-2011. For the evaluation of investment companies' performance, an original methodology in the context of group Multiple Criteria Decision Making has been used. The result of this study indicated that the combination of the two stocks is the optimal solution.
