Abstract

An improved synthesis for fly ash based zeolite has been attempted and studies have been carried out for the removal of Cu2+, Ni2+ and Mn2+ from paper industry wastewater. The parameters affecting adsorption process, such as initial pH, weight of zeolite, contact time were investigated. The transition metal ions present in the waste Cu2+, Ni2+ and Mn2+ shows better adsorption capacities on synthesized zeolite. The order of removal of heavy metal ions is Ni2+ &
